In December of 2009, the USDA announced its
high tunnel pilot study through its "Know your Farmer, Know your Food"
initiative. Having raised high value crops for several years and
participating in two local farmer's markets, we jumped at the opportunity to
participate in this study. We were lucky to be one of four farms in
our area to qualified for the study. After lots of research, we
purchased a 30 X 72 foot commercial high tunnel. This website will
chronicle our experience with this study from construction of the tunnel
through planting and harvest.
