Hail v. High Tunnel

In the late afternoon and evening of June 7, 2010, a severe weather system developed over Western Nebraska.    It produced strong winds, large hail, heavy rain and tornados as it moved eastward.  Though we did have some damage to the High Tunnel, we considered ourselves very lucky, as there was little damage to our plants outside the tunnel and no damage to our corn and alfalfa crop.  Just a mile and a half north of us there were lots of reports of damage to vehicles, homes and crops.
